Slightly off the beaten track with our second - more personal - Treacle About Town post today. These are images of Semana Santa in Xativa, Spain, that I took a couple of years ago on my grandfathers old medium format SLR film camera - I also developed them, thus the slightly less than professional finish!
If you have never been to Semana Santa/Spain's uber religious Easter festival, then you're seriously missing out. Imagine thousands of people robed up to the nines, playing lots brass instruments and carrying extremely heavy statues of Jesus in various stages of undress.
These particular pictures were of local school girls carrying ribbons that represented the purity of Christ himself. I'm not religious, but it was divine.
