Pear, blue cheese, beetroot, walnut, caramel
Last weekend marked our second Anti-Valentines supper club - this year was our ode to the food you just don't/can't/won't eat when being wooed - boycotting the romance for allium lovers, daring dairy delights, and people who like to eat with their hands...
We started with gambas pil pil (or head-on prawns!), which is one of our faves, totally garlic heaven and not glamorous to eat in the slightest! This was followed by a celebration of allium - leek and pea puree, with a cheddar and chive croquette, crispy garlic, pickled shallot and caramelised onion.
Our main course was heaven and hell tacos, heaven being cod, white bean, avocado, feta, pomegranate, hell was beef short rib, ancho chilli, dark chocolate, sweet potato, coriander - all of which had to be eaten with you hands!
Finally a sweet and savoury ode to the cheese board, with blue cheese ice cream, poached pear, salted caramel sauce, saw walnut, walnut brittle and beetroot powder.
Another wonderful success, and fabulous to meet so many new people around our AT table!
