AHHHHHH, we finally hosted our Spice Girls supper, a theme we have been toying with for a long time, and the gal power inspiration we've always wanted to celebrate!
Guests arrived to the sweet, sweet sound of Wannabe, and the scene was set, with glorious flowers and a barmy summer day to boot!
The menu was (rather tenuously) based around each Spice Girl -
Posh - everything 'posh' on one plate, we really threw it all in there!! Tomato concasse, prawn and lobster raviolo, scallop, caviar and crab bisque.
Scary - braised Octopus with a tomato and pepper sauce, heavily spiced with smokey ancho and hot birds eye chilli's.
Baby - lamb (or baby sheep!?), baby vegetables and puree, served with a pot of shepherds pie to eat with a baby spoon.
Ginger - Ginger beer and lemon sorbet with pudding gooseberries and fresh ginger, the perfect refresher in the heat!
Sporty - ironic 'sporty' dish of deep fried yumminess, passion fruit curd doughnut, deep fried chocolate ice cream, fried honey banana and raspberry sauce with petals.
As usual we had a wonderful selection of guests, so it was a special evening all round.
